NFL Sunday Night Football Schedule on NBC

The Week 16 Sunday Night Football game has been changed using the NFL flex-scheduling to place the San Francisco 49'ers at Seattle Seahawks game in the national telecast. The game will have two playoff teams battling for the NFC West division title as well as playoff positioning.

The 2012 NFL Sunday Night Football schedule features multiple games among divisional rivalries and conference rivalries. The NFL will use the "flex-scheduling" format during the NFL weeks 11 through 17 to ensure games that may have NFL playoff impact are televised in prime time. Notice of the game time changes will be posted by the NFL 12 days prior to the game change. The exception to the 12 day rule is in week 17 for the final regular season scheduled game that has a playoff implication game between teams.

SNF Schedule Weeks 1-5

The 2012-2013 NFL Football season TV schedule opens on a special Wednesday night broadcast with the Dallas Cowboys at the New York Giants in week 1. The Pittsburgh Steelers visit the Denver Broncos in the Week 1 Sunday Night Football telecast on NBC.

The Steelers-Broncos game is a rematch of the AFC playoff game from last year in which the Broncos led by Tim Tebow knocked the Steelers out of the playoffs. This year Peyton Manning leads the Broncos as their QB after missing all of last season after neck surgery and being traded from the Indianapolis Colts to the Denver Broncos.

Week 2 has the Detroit Lions at the San Francisco 49'ers in an NFC conference match-up.

The New England Patriots travel to face the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3 for a rematch of the AFC Championship from last season. The winner of this game could become the AFC favorite during the regular season.

There is no Sunday Night Football game scheduled in Week 4. Week 5 the San Diego Chargers travel to face the New Orleans Saints in an inter-conference game.

SNF Schedule Week 6-10

 The Green Bay Packers go to the Houston Texans in Week 6 for a Sunday Night Football TV game. The game will feature two teams that many have predicted for a Super Bowl match-up in February. The Packers are led by QB Aaron Rodgers and his load of receivers. The Houston Texans have a fierce defense and a top running game with Aaron Foster.

The Pittsburgh Steelers visit the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7 for an AFC North division game.

Week 8 has the New Orleans Saints at the Denver Broncos where Drew Brees and Peyton Manning will face off in a game between the AFC and NFC.

Week 9 features the Dallas Cowboys at the Atlanta Falcons in the Georgia in a key NFC conference game. The Falcons are really tough at home featuring an up-tempo offense this season. The Cowboys hope to use a running game and an improved defense to upset the Falcons.

In the Week 10 Sunday Night Football game match-up the Houston Texans play at the Chicago Bears in a game that will showcase two of the best defenses in the NFL.

SNF Schedule Weeks 11-17

The NFL Flex-Scheduling will take effect beginning in Week 11 through Week 17 for the NFL Sunday Night Football schedule. The games that are changed for the flex-scheduled will be announced 12 days prior to the game time change. The flex games will feature teams in games that have playoff implications. The Week 17 game will be scheduled 6 days prior to ensure the game will have two teams that will impact the playoffs.

Week 11 will feature the Baltimore Ravens at the Pittsburgh Steelers in an AFC North divisional game that could decide who wins the division. The two teams have playes very intense games lately and will be the same in this match-up.

Week 12 will showcase the bitter rivalry between the New England Patriots and the NY Jets in New York for an AFC East showdown. There is no love-lost in this rivalry and the game could impact the AFc East standings. The game will be played on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, in an evening game for a special Sunday Night Football telecast on a Thursday.

The Week 12 Sunday Night Football game on November 25 will see the Green Bay Packers and the New York Giants battle for playoff seedings at the Meadowlands. Eli Manning and Aaron Rodgers will lead their team in this NFC match-up.

The Week 13 Sunday Night Football schedule has the Philadelphia Eagles visiting the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East rivalry game. The Cowboys hope to turn their normal December losing streak into a winning streak this season if they hope to make a playoff run.

Week 14 on Sunday Night faces the Detroit Lions at the Green Bay Packers in an NFC North game that could impact the divisional standings. Both offenses are high scoring, but in December Lambeau Field can have a huge impact on the game in the cold.

The San Diego Chargers travel to play the NY Jets in Week 16 in a game that could have a wild card spot on the line or be a potential flex-schedule game change.

The Week 17 Sunday Night Football game will be determined after the week 16 games.
